Haley Hixon was awarded a Doctorate in Audiology degree at West Virginia University in 2021. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science and Disorders and a certificate in American Sign Language Studies at the University of Pittsburgh located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2017. In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Audiology, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. Hixon completed her residency at a Neurotology (ENT) practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specializing in comprehensive adult and pediatric evaluations, hearing systems and rehabilitation, cochlear implant evaluations and management, as well as vestibular (balance) testing and rehabilitation. She also participated in auditory speech perception research in which she explored the effects of speaker identification in quiet and noisy situations. She is proficient in American Sign Language and enjoys working with individuals of the Deaf community.
Dr. Hixon is pleased to return to her hometown of Cumberland and serve the community that allowed her to prosper. She is a certified yoga teacher and enjoys fitness and reading books (often, her latest find on American History). Her world revolves around her “kiddos” (cats) Binx and Max.
